We are living in an age of endless information. Whether we like it or not we’re growing accustomed to immediate gratification.
No one knows that reality better than business owners.
The need for NOW
Your customers need services or products, RIGHT NOW, they need their wants/desires fulfilled immediately, and they want the products they ordered to arrive yesterday. It seems as though “now” is never quite fast enough.
Having said that, you don’t have to bend over backwards to achieve success with your clients. With a few simple adjustments you can meet the demands without sacrificing all of your free time.
How to meet the demands – successfully
Keep your social media profiles updated
You don’t need to master all social media outlets, but do focus your attention to at least one. If you don’t have time to balance several, at least dedicate some time to keeping one account active and updated, really well. If your clients are avid Facebook users, then be sure you keep your page a priority. Or if you’re a boutique that’s always keeping your Instagram colorful, be sure to post whenever you have something fabulous to show off.
Do invest time in your website
Websites are no longer an option and mobile responsive websites are a must. Customers want to see what you have to offer or learn more about you. That’s a simple fact. The Yellow Pages, what’s that? Your website is your billboard – it tells the world you’re there.
Listen to your clients or customers
Your clients will ALWAYS be your best resource. If there is an item they are clamoring for be sure to find a way to stock it. If you’re a pet shop not stocking a popular brand the customers who are loyal to that brand will take their business elsewhere.
Use your social media accounts to ask your customers what more you could be doing for them. Calls to action often bring larger engagement numbers on social media sites.
Keep track of your Google and Yelp scores – Reviews
You don’t need to obsess over them, but it can be extremely helpful for customers to know the experiences of others before they do business with you. The convenience of user reviews can be both a blessing and a curse, however, if your business doesn’t have any traction there you won’t know how helpful customer feedback can be for your bottom line.
You don’t need to reinvent the wheel
It’s possible that things you’ve already implemented are making your business more convenient for your customers. But it’s possible to heighten that convenience just by taking a few minutes to engage further.
So, consider how else you can reach your clients? How else can you reward your loyal customers so they don’t go elsewhere? How else can you notify your customers or clients that you have that new widget or are back in stock on another? A mobile app can be that resource for your current and potential clients.
