Don’t Leave Your Customers Hanging During the Holidays

Be sure to share social media posts about holidays to keep audience engaged

No matter what wintertime festivities you have in store, the end of the year is a hectic time for all business owners. Reduced hours or days off, cramming in family functions or friendly gatherings, it’s hard to keep up with your customers when you truly want to disconnect for a few days.

But disconnecting does not have to mean total radio silence for your business. It’s the time of year to really put scheduled social media posts to work.

Schedule posts to keep up with customers and the year end chaos

Whether you post yourself and schedule ahead of time or you use a service like Buffer, it’s important to keep your customers in the loop even if you’re on a far off beach. It’s up to you whether or not you want to theme your posts but keeping your social media platforms active during the busy season is important.

Though you might be busier than ever, your customers may be on a two week winter holiday. For some, the holidays are an active time on social media simply because they have the time or need the break from a gift induced tantrum or the relative who had one too many egg nogs.

Engage with your consumers

In fact, when scheduling your posts try to make some of them at least somewhat interactive. Pose a question to your customers, encourage them to engage with your posts.

Other businesses might be posting just once to wish their customers a happy holidays or happy new year and then go dark for a week. Those posts might do well initially with audiences liking or interacting with it, but it’s the posts that encourage commenting that accrue the greatest feedback scores. You’ll reach more people and have them more interested in what you have to say than just posting a nice message and leaving it at that.

Though that lovely greeting message is totally great too. Everyone loves being appreciated, especially at this time of year.

Take a little bit of time before diving into the holidays to schedule some posts. That way you’re still interacting without having the distraction of work during your well earned holiday. I personally recommend using a site like Buffer if you’re always posting new content on your website, however, because socials do not let you post unpublished links even if they’re scheduled to go up after the link has been published.

Benefits with WordPress users and Buffer

With something like Buffer the algorithm posts for you when you ask it to. And if you use a service like WordPress, you’re in luck because Buffer will link right up and even post to let folks know when new content is available! These services can also post to multiple platforms which is great if you like synchronicity.

But don’t worry, if you like your Facebook posts to be a little different than Instagram or Twitter or LinkedIn, you can just as easily make individual posts as well.
